Good Times in Clifty

Oh yes ladies and gentleman we are wrapping up our fall excursion in Clifty Falls, IN.  The leaves are changing, the temperature has dropped twenty degrees, and now we get ready to go home.  I have often wanted to cling to the last day of a vacation as if my relaxation and comfort were the be all end all.  But since I have been married this is not the case.  My life is asleep in the bed next to me and will go home with me tomorrow.  In the last two days the Lord has refreshed me through time in his word and time with my wife.  I love to laugh with her, whether its about the horrendous meal we had at MAVERICKS tonight (which punished our bowels) or illegally stealing dead wood from a national park.  She is the light of my life and a walking jukebox.  Last night she put me to shame identifying songs on the radio.  She is especially great at changing the lyrics of a song to fit a given mood of a situation.  I chuckle when she sings, "You are the wind beneath my... Butt."  Now thats true love!

the krutzas move to the big city

We are here (Louisville), partially unpacked, employed, exhausted, perplexed by the insane drivers, and ready for Drew's school to start.

It's really after midnight here...I'm working on some work emails...I will post later and hopefully have pictures of our cute apartment.

long time no write

Well...I'm up late after my hubby went to bed. I'm preparing for Jessie's bachelorette party:) And I'm so excited! I made her a tart with the fruit in the shape of a H....hope people can tell it's in that shape.I have really seen some sinful tendencies in me today. I have been a little grumpy and have said harsher words, that definitely don't reflect my love for others. Why do I get so impatient, so quick to jump to conclusions? I can see throughout Scripture and in my own life that the Lord is patient. To steal a line from my daddy, "I should have been dead long ago." The Lord had been gracious to me. He made me. My rebellion is much to often the theme of my life. He has redeemed me and is sanctifying me into the image of His Son. I need to be more like Him. I need to meditate on His loving kindness and patience. I need for my desires to be more and more molded to the desires of His Spirit...to bring glory to my Christ. Praise God that He will accomplish this...not for Amanda but for the sake of His Son. Thank you Jesus for your death and Resurrection. Without you I would be lost in my sinful state not even knowing I was lost. I would be without hope. Discipline is sweet and full of hope. I need discipline. Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord to thy precious bleeding side. Let my body ache and pant with desires for You.

Germs

At long last we have found out who the culprit named Roscoe actually is. He is also known as Jeremy Moran. Although the comment he made was funny, my reply will be on a more serious note. Let me tell you about this fella... theres nobody better. We got to hang out and watch a UK game the other night, and I caught myself thinking about the integrity and character that I so much appreciate in Jeremy. The phrase "joy for the gospel" comes to mind when I see Jeremy at church or anywhere for that matter. He has a God given ability to reach out to others. He has reached out to me numerous times. I have always felt encouraged when leaving a conversation with the man. I think Jeremy exemplifies a love that is found all over the bible. I think about how Paul and Timothy labored and longed to see so many churches they had planted. I can invision that love looking like the relationships Jeremy has with so many people. Jeremy's love for others has always been preceded by a deeper love, that of Christ. The light of Christ shines ever so brightly through him and spurns me on towards being more like Christ.

What a joy to have a brother in Christ to exhort and encourage me in my own walk. So often I have taken relationships like this one for granted. I pray that God would give me love for my brothers and sisters like Paul had for the Thessalonians and ultimately a love like Christ. Later Roscoe....

We have had a really good week. Katie's 21st b-day was Wednesday. We went out to eat on Thursday to celebrate! And then Alice came over after Bible Study. Friday we had the joy of keeping our nephew. He is adorable as the picture above shows. He has taught us so much in his 3 years of life...how to pray from the pit of my stomach, to lay my anxiety before the cross, and so much more. He always brings a smile to my face. He has a way of capturing all of me when he is around. Katie came over to hang out with us again on Friday. Then Nicki, Timmy, Jessie, and Miah came to pick Isaiah up. So, Drew and I had the privelige of having all of our siblings in our 600 square foot apartment. We are so thankful for each one of our brothers/sisters. Our families are growing quickly and each addition makes our family more complete. (can't wait to welcome Katie's hubby into the family one day;)..hehe Saturday I went with Jessie to look for bridesmaids dresses...had a great time. Got to also spend time with my mom and all of the bridesmaids. I'm am looking forward to June 7th! Saturday we hung out with some of our best friends...what a blast! Drew played with one of his best friends tonight at church (also known as Roscoe).

So, this week has been wonderful...full of time with family and friends. What a great God we have. He calls us into realationship with His Son and with each other. May He be glorified as we enjoy Him and each other.

Happy B-day Hubby!

Well...today is Feb. 8th 2008...DREW KRUTZA'S 23RD B-DAY!

So, I hope you a have a wonderful birthday, Drew! (Since you and I are probably the only people who read this thing)

I thought I would write out my top 5 things I'm thankful for. (Cheesy...yes, but hey?)

5. The way Drew leaves his towel on the floor....

4. When my feet are cold at night I can warm them up on Drew:) Which he loves.

3. He's super athletic. I'm really not. BUT hey we have fun trying together. Drew now wants to take up tennis.

2. He's hillarious..if you know him you know this is true. He makes me laugh all the time. My favorite quote. Drew said this while looking at young children: "Isn't it weird that boys and girls have the ingredients to make babies." I'm looking forward to a lifetime of laughs.

1. He's humble. He's so talented and walks humbly before our Lord. He leads our home and loves others humbly.

So, Happy B-day. I love you more than a fat kid loves cake;)

Strange Day

The season is over and all I wanted to do is cry. I hate the thought of not coaching, pushing, and feebly attempting to teach thirteen 7th graders the game of basketball. To say I "like" those kids is a gross understatement. I "love" being around them. Once the initial shock from losing our first round game wore off, I started thinking about the progress the team made both individually and as a group. Even though they progressed by leaps and bounds in the areas of mental toughness, basketball IQ, and skillfulness, I am most proud of the steps they took toward being men. In a culture that seems to scoff at character, I made it a goal of mine to teach my team integrity. If we lost every game this year yet accomplished this goal, I would have been satisfied.

The Lord does all things for the good of those who love him. He heaped so much good upon me by this experience. While his exact purpose is still somewhat of a mystery I know he has sanctified my life during this season.

Oh, and I love my wife. Not like I should, but Christ will give me grace to love her as I ought. She put up with all the practices and games. She's wonderful! The Lord has been abundantly gracious to me!
